Essential Staff and Employment Documents for Your Service!

Staff and employment documents are an important part of documentation at an early years service. Under the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 employers are required to keep a comprehensive staff file on each member of staff.

At the Early Years Shop we have a number of different staff and employment form packs and tool kits available that include all the tools, templates and forms that you may require. These packs will guide and help services to be compliant with the paperwork required for each staff member.

All of these packs have been designed by Canavan Byrne and are available immediately upon ordering in downloadable form. Any of the documents in WORD format can be customised to include a service's own details such as a logo. Additionally, services can remove any text that is not valid and add in anything that is relevant and specific to a service.

Essential Staff and Employment Documents Available on the Early Years Shop

Job Description Pack - Having a job description for each staff member is essential and a required document. With the Job Description Pack you will receive a job description for the most common roles to include Early Years Practitioner, Room Leader, Supervisor, Deputy Manager, Manager and School Aged Early Years Practitioner.

Employment Contract Template - This pack will make a great start for any service seeking to put together an employee contract for new staff members. The document is suitable for fixed-term, specified-purpose, hourly-paid, full-time, part-time or term-time contracts. The contract is written in simple, non-legalistic language so that the contract can be easily read and understood. It includes all aspects of employment including items such as job title and function, probation terms, remuneration, benefits and absence from work.

Employee Management Pack - This pack is designed to ensure services have everything required to be compliant with inspections from the Workplace Relations Commission and Tusla to comply with Part III - Management and Staff of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016. There are over 35 forms included in the pack including forms such as an application form, annual leave form, Annual Appraisal Form, Absence Tracker and a Job Chat Form.

Sick Leave Management Pack - This pack gives employers essential guidance on the relevant employment law around sick leave and other supporting documents to help employers manage sick leave properly while not infringing on the rights of the employee.

Maternity & Pregnancy Toolkit - This pack aims to provide a simple guide as well as the tools required to help employers develop good working practices when dealing with pregnancy, expectant parents, maternity, paternity, parental and adoptive leave and post maternity employment issues.

Key Worker Toolkit - The Key Worker approach recognises that each child deserves to be special to someone. This helps the child to feel a sense of security so that they feel confident in their own world in order to explore and form further relationships. The Key Worker needs to know the child and be able to support their sense of identity and individuality. The forms included in this pack allow the Key Worker to keep relevant and up to date information in order to support the children in their individual group.
