The Infection Control Policy includes information based on the most recent Tusla inspection feedback. Inspectors are looking for a procedure on the management of non-immunised and vulnerable children and also that there are infection control procedures in place for visits to farms or for visiting animals, even if you don’t generally partake in this activity. This is outlined in the document, which also integrates Covid 19 procedures. It also covers the Monkeypox virus.
What is contained in the policy
The policy covers all the elements required under regulation and highlighted in Tusla’s Quality and Regulatory Framework (QRF) from hygiene practices such as nappy changing, nose blowing and cleaning routines to immunisation schedules and exclusion procedures.
