New! Our 'Prepare for Preschool Pack' is now available to purchase on the Early Years Shop! This pack has been designed by the Early Years experts and award winning Canavan Byrne. It was created in response to a requirement from services to help parents prepare their children for preschool. This pack can be sent to parents over the Summer holidays.
Many children who begin preschool in September spent their early months and years at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. These children had little chance of socialising in play groups or play dates as the country was in lockdown. Due to this there has been a rise in anxiety for families around supporting children with the transition to preschool.
Communicating with Families
The idea of this new pack is to give families support on how to help and guide their children with this transition. This includes how to prepare children on the lead up to the first day, how to support ongoing transition, how to support an upset child, lunchbox ideas, and what to bring.
As the pack includes many visual aids it is also beneficial for families where English is not the first language. Furthermore, the pack includes a Welcome Letter Template that services can customise for their requirements. The service logo can be uploaded on the letter and you can add and delete text where needed. This template can be used over and over when you are welcoming new families to the service.
