Mother's Day will be celebrated on Sunday, 14th of March this year and honours the mother of the family. It is celebrated throughout the world on different dates but usually takes place in March or May. Over the years the celebration has extended to celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers on society. There are many activities that you can undertake with the children to teach them about Mother's Day. Reading books and stories about mothers and learning about their role within the family unit is a good way to begin. You can do plenty of activities such as kindness and gratitude activities, as well as card making and gift making activities (decorating flower pots, pictures, pasta necklaces).
Mother's Day Activity Pack - FREE For EYRF Members
The Mother's Day Activity Pack has been created by Canavan Byrne to send to families of the children in your service. The pack includes some lovely ideas for families to do at home with children in preparation for Mother's Day. It includes five different activities as well as two two Mother's Day poems.
