Get Compliant-Ready for 2018!

Our comprehensive Child Registration Form captures all the information required to be compliant with the Early Years Regulations and the new version includes a Data Protection Sign-off in light of the forthcoming data protection regulations which come in to effect in May 2018.
Remember, if you have a child with an additional need, allergy or medical condition you will need to develop a care plan.

Risk Assessment.

Risk Assessing your service, the premises and all operations is essential to protect the safety of children and staff. It is also an integral part of the Tusla Inspection Process. These risk assessments should be written. Daily risk checks of classrooms/care rooms, sanitary areas, sleep areas, outdoor areas should be carried out along with a morning security check. A full risk assessment audit should be completed monthly. Other risk assessments include a Garda Vetting Disclosure Risk Assessment, Pregnancy Risk Assessment and Risk Assessments of Accidents and Incidents. All these are available in our Risk Assessment Pack!

Staff Files

At a minimum your staff file should contain:

  • Staff ID and Qualifications (certified)
  • Training Record (available as part of our Employee Management Pack)
  • Copies of mandatory health and safety training certificates (fire safety, food hygiene, manual handling, paediatric first aid, child protection)
  • 2 Validated References (Reference Validation Form is available as part of our Employee Management Pack)
  • CV or Application Form. (Application Form is availablee as part of our Employee Management Pack)
  • Garda Vetting and Police Checks (where applicable): Remember if there is a criminal disclosure you must risk assess this. (These forms are available as part of our Employee Management Pack)
  • Job Description (we have a range of sample job descriptions in our Employee Management Pack)
  • Induction Record (also available as part of our Employee Management Pack)

Employment Contracts

Remember it is an employer’s legal responsibility to provide employees with a written outline of their terms and conditions of employment. Start the new year by getting your house in order and ensure all employees are issued with a Contract of Employment.

Documenting Children's Learning

Our ever-popular 'My Learning Journey' is an excellent way of recording child's interests, skills and capabilities as they grow and develop.
An observation or "wow" moment in the child’s learning will be completed monthly (as a minimum). From this the practitioner determines the best activities and strategies to engage the child to extend their learning. The Learning Journal is very much a working document between the educator, child and parent.
