Explore multiculturalism with the children in your service. The Chinese New Year is a great holiday for children and an opportunity for creativity and thinking about animals, geography, and different cultures.
Every year is represented by a different animal in a cycle that goes over 12 years in the Chinese Zodiac system. Talk and play with the children about the current year's animal as well as the animal representing their birth years.
Along with the activities relating to the current Year of the Rat, there are many more activities, games and songs to add to your library of curriculum plans to draw on when responding to the children's emergent interests throughout the year!
This pack includes activities and fact sheets on:
- The Chinese New Year
- Chinese Zodiac Story
