When it comes to managing employment and staff policies in your service, you really must be sure to comply with your legal obligations. Every staff member must have:
A well-crafted Employment Contract. More casual agreements or ambiguous roles can leave you open to legal issues in the future! Protect yourself with a clear definition of the role and responsibilities.
Clearly defined workplace policies to handle:
discipline
grievances
bullying and harassment
sexual harassment
These policies are not optional - as an early years service you are required by law to have these policies in place for your staff.
We have a sample employment contract now available on the Early Years Shop, suitable for fixed-term, specified-purpose, hourly-paid, full-time, part-time or term-time contracts. After purchase, you can download the contract and then adapt for your service. Please note that this is only a starting point. You must adapt this contract for your specific needs.
