The accompanying guidance document will assist in developing a Statement reflective of your service and tailored to your needs. This is not simply a Safety Statement but a full risk management document that contains risk assessments, policies and statements.
This document contains a range of risk assessment to cover all aspects of service delivery. This includes accidents, medication and infection control to fire safety, food management and the outdoors.
It also supplies a full range of daily risk checks to ensure children and staff are kept safe. Furthermore, that the service maintains compliance with the Child Care Act 1992 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 and the Childcare Act 1991 (Registration of School Age Services) Regulations 2018.
Safety Statement Compliance
If you follow this document to develop a Safety Statement you are not only ensuring compliance with the Preschool Regulations noted above but also with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and other associated safety legislation. Services have recently reported visits from the Health & Safety Authority who have a responsibility to monitor workplace safety compliance and can inspect any time.
Safety Statement - Control
The document is available in Microsoft Word giving you full control of editing. A Safety Statement should be reviewed and signed off annually by management and staff. Safety training should be put in place. Mandatory training includes manual handling, fire safety, food hygiene and first aid.
