The Where I Live Journal is an open-ended A3 journal has a cover beautifully illustrated by Oliver Moore and Stephanie Morley. The 'Where I Live' Journal provides ample blank pages to document group observations, photographs, and children's own work. Each child has his/her own set of experiences and individual life story in the community in which they live. The child’s identity as an individual and as a member of a family and wider community is very important. This should be supported by the early educator. The purpose of this journal is to document how you support each child’s engagement with their community and their emergent interests.
Where I Live Journal Features:
- Open-ended style
- A3 allowing lots of space for recording
- Displays the Aistear themes and goals to make linking easier and more meaningful
- The first page is dedicated to pasting in pictures of the children’s favourite things from their setting and encourages educators to get children to choose
- 24 blank sheets
- Provides an excellent record of community involvement for inspection purposes
The 'Where I Live' Journal is the first in the Documentation Made Simple series from Canavan Byrne, a series of open-ended scrapbooks to record children’s learning experiences linked to Aistear.
