The regulations and procedures applied to the service should be followed in such circumstances. To outline the procedures it is important to have a sick policy in place at your service. This will ensure that employees understand and are aware of the terms and conditions of sick leave.
What to include in your Sick Leave Policy
This policy should include items such as the purpose, scope, policy & procedure, illness during annual leave, abuse of sick leave, accrual of annual leave on certified sick leave, significant sick absences, attendance at company doctor and return to work. In addition, it should include recording of sick leave as well as the new Sick Pay Scheme details that will commence in January 2023.
