According to the Child Care Act 1991 [Early Years Services] Regulations 2016 and [School Aged Services] Regulation 2018, all staff members are required to have two written references (one from the most recent employer).
These references MUST be validated, and a written record of this validation must be maintained on a Reference Validation Checklist sheet.
These documents must be available for inspection by Tusla.
Please note that a signature and “reference validated on x date” will not suffice and will be deemed non-compliant by the inspector.
