We will be updating the Coronavirus Policy as new information continues to come to light.
Latest update: 2020-03-11.
Remember that we provide policies as a starting point but that they should be edited as required for your service.
Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that can cause illnesses, some of which are very mild like the common cold and others more severe, like SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). A ‘novel’ coronavirus means that it is a new type of coronavirus that has never been seen in humans before. The coronavirus that has been identified in China recently is one of these. This week’s Friday Freebie is a policy and procedures document that has been developed for Early Years Services with advice from the HSE. The policy covers what the virus is, the symptoms, the treatment and how to best protect children and staff within your service. Having a policy in place around the coronavirus will ensure that you are keeping all stakeholders involved in your service (staff, parents, children, visitors) up to date and informed on the procedures you have in place around the coronavirus.
